Hi All
After checking out some used bikes to buy & really not having any idea what I am looking at & no-one mechanically minded to help me out I called on Simon from M.I.S.T to help me out. Definitely worth every cent so I thought I would get some info from him in case anyone else finds themselves in a bit over their heads when it comes to buying a bike or scooter:
Motorcycle Inspection Services Tasmania (M.I.S.T)
DON’T BUY A LEMON!!!!
Pre-purchase inspections of motorcycles and scooters in Tas’.
Based out of Hobart, M.I.S.T. business owner – Simon Reading has been in the “Motorcycle Industry” in one way, shape or form for the past 20 years and is currently an accredited Rider Trainer. As a former motorcycle dealer in Brisbane, Simon knows the short cuts some people take to try and “up value” their motorcycles and uses this knowledge to YOUR advantage.
On your behalf, M.I.S.T. will meet the vendor on neutral ground, thoroughly inspect the motorcycle and then detail a 10 page report on the motorcycles Engine, Suspension, Tyres, Lights, Gauges, Final Drive Mechanism, Brakes, Bodywork etc etc.
M.I.S.T. will perform a thorough online registration status check, which will advise if the motorcycle is unencumbered (free title), and will also advise if the bike has ever been stolen, repairable write off or statutory write off.
To add further value to the report, M.I.S.T. searches out other similar motorcycles currently advertised elsewhere in the country for comparative purposes and will also offer a current Red Book valuation on the motorcycle in question.
The fee of $99 (Plus excess travel outside of Hobart Metro) is usually recoverable during price negotiations, especially once you have an experienced, trained inspector on your side!
If you want further information or are thinking of buying a motorcycle soon – you should speak with Motorcycle Inspection Services Tasmania – Call Simon on 0417 333 320.
